Psychotherapy with
Ashley Ann Ekegren
A space to speak freely, feel deeply, and learn to live more authentically.
Hi there ~ I’m Ashley Ann Ekegren, a registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist providing trauma-informed psychoanalytic therapy in California.
Your story is unique to you
To honor this, I collaborate with you to identify how you hope to grow in this process.
While I predominately work with adults and teens navigating the impacts of trauma and complex post traumatic stress disorder, I also treat issues of depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and grief.
People start therapy for all kinds of reasons. In my experience providing psychotherapy to adults, teens, and couples over the last 6 years, I’ve prioritized tailoring treatment to the needs of each unique individual I have the honor of working with.
a glimpse into the process
What to Expect in our Work Together
Therapy is the process of returning to yourself … a space to listen inward and make sense of what’s been hard to hold alone.
In our work together, we explore what has shaped you ~ the relationships, emotions, and expectations that have woven your story ~ to understand what they might be telling us about how you’ve learned to navigate life.
The process is not about fixing yourself, but about intentional presence ~ learning to meet yourself honestly, even in the moments that feel unclear and uncomfortable. Some sessions bring clarity; others ask you to sit with uncertainty. Both are essential.
Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, we stay curious about what those symptoms are communicating.
Most importantly, the foundation of my approach is relational ~ I bring warmth, curiosity, and candor into the room to help my clients feel more at ease in who they are in any given moment.
Navigating the complexities of life is hard, but you don’t have to do it alone.
